Council needs to press for release the unredacted IG report. Requesting for the release once is not enough, Council. |
No Councilmembers do not want to hear from the public. |
You can contact your county council members. |
The Council could subpoena the document if they wanted it. |
But they choose not to. Vote out these Council members! |
5 years working for MCPS when Beidleman complaints were coming in and she gets to staff the hearing today? https://parentscoalitionmc.blogspot.com/2024/02/predictable-cover-up-continues-with.html?m=1 |
Disgusting |
There are a lot of things the council needs to address here. Essie McGuire is not the issue. |
Then let Monifa McKnight run today’s hearing at the Council. |
Parents Coalition is right. Essie should at minimum excuse herself from this hearing due to conflict of interest and probably be part of the witness group explaining their decisions and actions. |
Wake up folks, MCPS, Council, BOE all 'in this together'! BOE acts like they are part of Central office. They work for YOU, taxpaying voters! Hold them ALL accountable. |
What are you talking about? County Council hearings are run by County Council members. |
Council staff create the agenda and scope. Council members are too busy to prepare for every hearing that is why they have staff to do the research. |
And was high-level MCPS staff before. We'll have to see if she utilizes that insider experience to shine light on the issues or to cover them up. My guess, with her being a political operator, would be a targeted amount of the former and lots of the latter. Nice for the council to have plenty of $ not only for their own salaries, but for a relative host of staff, who don't exactly make a pittance. MCPS has those positions, too, but not the BOE, who rely pretty mich entirely on thoae reporting to the Superintendent and whose compensation accounts for less than 10 hours a week for a skill set that we might hope to be, at a minimum, on the level of a mid-level financial analyst or an assistant school principal. Maybe 3-4 hours a week if you want a principal-level equivalent. |
Yes, the County Council has staff. Nobody is disagreeing with the factual statement that the County Council has staff. County Council staff do not run the hearings. |
