If you had 24/7 help with elder care for a time

Did this for two weeks before my parent died. We used a contracted agency affiliated with the CCRC.

The aides we contracted were NOT allowed to sleep and made a point to tell us this. I can vouch for this fact as I slept over several times and the aide would quietly keep vigil and be at the ready to assist my parent w/ multiple bathroom visits and care needs during the night.

pp, Did you feel there was -any- benefit, them being in the CCRC? Seems like the patient had the same expenses as someone not living in a CCRC.

The bigger corporation I hired had a clause but the smaller mom and pop didn’t.

We did 24 hour shifts- but this was in NY where you only have to pay for 13 hours of of 24 hour shift so it is common to set up shifts that way.

I’m one of the PP. My parents are in a CCRC in independent living. I don’t think it makes a difference. I will say that now that my mom is in PT it’s a huge benefit since there is a PT office at the facility. For the 24 hour care it really doesn’t matter.
