If Adderall didn't work for your DC, which prescription did?

DS has been on Vyvanse for 6 years. Now we can't find it (or the generic) anywhere. Just had to switch to generic Adderall. Fingers crossed.

I will say we went through so many doses and types and switches and I thought it would never click, and when it did it was such an obvious fit and it was like a whole new child and so it is very worth the trial and error. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. What was the trial and error/follow up appts with the doctor like? Did they just suggest a new med? We have a follow up but not sure what to expect... Seems like there are so many different options out there and not sure how to best advocate for DC when we ourselves know very little about the medications out there.

It was over a year of trying new drugs and new doses, for a month at a time. We worked with a psychiatrist and would report side effects and performance and she would make a new suggestion. Sometimes it was to up or down the dose and sometimes it was to try a new drug. I dont think there is a logical path like if a then b, it is very child dependent. And like I said, once it clicks you will know!
