We did Shared Risk in 2021, and came to SGF specifically for that program only. We had had two unsuccessful rounds of IVF elsewhere, and wanted the "guaruntee" of either a baby or the money back. I got pregnant on our first round of IVF with SGF (3rd round overall IVF), on my second transfer. I think it was just a numbers game, I don't really think SGF did anything very different than the other clinic. You can do the math, but it really is a good deal unless you get pregnant on the first round of IVF with the first transfer. I found SGF very professional and the nurses super easy to communicate with, as well as very responsive via the portal. This was a big plus, I was almost annoyed at the amount of times they called me they were so communicative! The "downside" is they are less flexible with their rules/protocols. That is what it is, just know that going in, especially if you're coming from a smaller clinic. You can push back some with your doctor though, mine was willing to change some things for me that made me feel more comfortable.

We had no hidden fees. All the testing happened for us prior to being accepted in the program, although my insurance does cover testing (just maxed out lifetime IVF benefits already). You pay upfront, and can split it on different credit cards etc if that is necessary.

Also, I got all my meds from overseas. There are a few programs out there, I used IVF pharmacy. You can go to their website and see their prices, it is signigicantly cheaper. It ships pretty quickly and they call to confirm with you, but you need to give about 2 weeks just in case - mine shipped within days though. Obviously if you need more during your stimulation, you'd need to go local as they can't overnight. They can't ship needles, so you can get those from a local pharmacy or buy them off amazon.

We did shared risk DE and no hidden fees except for medications. Great experience.

DE is different in that you’re not paying thousands of dollars OOP for medications per cycle.
