The orientation I attended referred to the Wootton cluster. That is the only way I can share the info. |
Can't. Blair takes math too seriously for that. |
There is an individual (maybe current 6th or 7th grade TPMS parent) who is very motivated to inflate TP matriculations into Blair. I'd be really surprised if more than one third of TP still matriculates to Blair. It should be more or less similar to other high performing middle schools. |
TPMS have always sent way more students to Blair than other high performing middle schools. |
Yes, but as others have already pointed out, that was pre-lottery. |
Well if half come from TPMS which prepares them for this program then that leaves 50 slots for the other middle schools. |
Well, it is a very strong school. |
It has the MS math/science magnet and is near Blair. Makes sense it would attract the same kids. |
Geez. Why do you respond to your own response? There is really an obsessive, crazy person here. |
| TPMS zones to Blair, so many kids would be going to school with their middle school friends (both inside and outside the magnet). I think that makes them very likely to accept their offers, compared to kids from other MS that may not apply or get in and not accept. Regardless, my kid, in 9th grade now, feels like a vast majority of the kids are wither TPMS or Frost kids. |
NP. I don't understand the accusatory tone from the posts saying someone is trying to inflate TP matriculations to Blair. Why would someone lie? For what purpose? Seems to me it's just a parent who went to an orientation where they heard someone say this and is reporting back. Maybe the administrator who said it was wrong, just rounding very roughly or making generalizations over a longer period. Why are you so fixated on this? |

OP here.
Please stop. I mentioned TPMS in the OP so we could get it out of the way. |
You are just like the other posters getting bent out of shape for nothing. |
The program at TPMS prepares students who are passionate and successful at STEM to be successful in the HS program. |
| TPMS has been more than sufficiently covered. Thank you. Move on. |
