Good luck to everyone waiting on decisions from UT! It is almost an impossible admit OOS. I posted this recently, but I think it is fun. A big State School like Texas provides many opportunities to your kids. Austin is a great city. While UT is a giant school, it is very manageable.

Awesome city and one of the fastest growing in the US. It's the live music cap of the Southwest. I was fortunate to have met great friends there. We all were nobodies back in the day but had a great time. The school is very friendly. Long stories about my experience at Texas. Many years ago while at UT, I made friends with Matthew McConaughey, Jon Hamm, and Renee Zellweger. We were all just kids at the time. Oddly, we still stay in touch. Even Glen Powell (top gun maverick (hangman) met us in Austin for a night out not long ago. Epic night out! I met U2, Bo Diidly, Willie Nelson, Black Crows, Counting Crows and many others. report |

Majors? Applications are all about “fit to major.” |
My son was business so a total longshot and we submitted scores which was dumb. Don't know other majors. One was psychology - a girl |
Psychology is also somewhat over-enrolled there (but not like business; Austin is the biggest economic boomtown of the century so far.) |
Do you know what is the major? We got rejection for CS. |
I can't imagine knowing the app status of this many kids unless I was a counselor or something. |
Why? Son and 7 classmates he knows |
Depends on the major. OOS DC got in honors program for a liberal arts major. |
LOL! |
LOL that kid will be home by December |
Do you live under a rock? All the southern schools are flooded with northerners, and they keep coming. |
| Kid's best friend rejected and it was his lifelong dream. Oh well. Other offers in hand for engineering. |
