Is it OK to skip a social studies class in 10th grade? Insights on what colleges want are welcome!

I would not recommend it for my own kid, but you do you.

Yes, he has to take Honors Chem before AP Chem and Honors Physics before AP Physics C. He wriggled out of Honors Bio, they will let him take AP Bio without Honors Bio.

Health is in the summer, of course.

He does not need to take Honors Physics before AP Physics C. AP C is fine as a first time physics course, best paired with AP BC Calculus, or the year after.

We live in America ergo colleges want money and that all.

It's absolutely ridiculous to crush students' schedules by requiring Honors science and then Double period AP in the same science. It really shows how the schools are refusing to teach and give the students work to learn.

Well you only need 3 social studies classes to graduate in MCPS so eventually you will have one year without social studies.

It may shock you to learn that not every MCPS graduate goes to college. Some don't go to 4 year colleges. And some don't go to selective colleges.

Much more typical to split the double period sciences across multiple years.

My kid ended up with the same basic outcome-- only 3 years of soc studies. But it was senior year that she didn't take one.

That said, your described curriculum is quite rigorous, so I don't think colleges would ding you. (On apps, you'll list senior year classes, so they'll see what you are taking, even if they don't have grades for them.)
