dance class for overweight older women

I was a thin and fit 20 something in barre classe and I can assure you that when I was there I wasn't thinking about anyone else in the room or anything else except getting my work out in and what I was doing after class. I have noticed on this board that overweight folks seem to have a real main character syndrome, always assuming thin people are constantly thinking of them. We are not. No one cares what you do. So pick a dance class that seems appealing to you and go for it.

Aren't you a peach. In every single class I've tried in the last 5 years, at least one "birch" feels compelled to make a remark. People are azzholes but you keep on pretending it's just us thinking we are the center of everything. Birches love the chance to crap on a woman who weighs more.

If you’re in DC and this interests you, pole pressure is very welcoming to all bodies and abilities.

Do you have a link? When I google I only find a group in DC.

The website is currently being built, but if you have facebook, you can search "Mom-entum Dance Troupe". I think it isn't searchable in google due to privacy settings.

Another vote for zumba. It's fun, upbeat, energizing, always people of all sizes.

And one more for Zumba! I just started Zumba again post-pandemic and it's a lifesaver! All sizes, all shapes, mostly older.

+ 1 to balletnova. We are definitely not all young and thin and there's no attitude. Pp is right that the daytime classes skew older but plenty of not-young not- thin students in the weekend and evening classes too.
