Is this a pressure sore? Take him to the ER. My father (also Parkinsons) progressed to stage 4 while being monitored by a wound care specialist. It is not a simple issue after a certain point. |
Outside agencies may provide daily (not twice a day) or less frequent wound care, which they are getting already? May need to go to a skilled nursing facility temporarily. Call the doctor to get the proper orders. Also, can a family member be trained to do the wound care? |
I work for a company that connects people with at home wound care providers. I would be happy to speak with you. My number is 508-466-2004 and my name is Kate. Please call anytime. |
Maybe try Dispatch Health? It’s an at-home urgent care. - https://dispatchhealth.com/ |
Typically the physician has to “prescribe” or order this in order to get it started and covered. Contact the physician. |

I would go to the ER. Assisted living places are notoriously bad about handling wound care. Have the hospital set up after-care before leaving. Don’t depend on the facility to care for it. That’s how my Dad ended up septic. |
This. He is going to need to go to a rehab facility after the ER. |
ER now. Today. |
