It should be harder but shouldn't they get AP level GPA boost like the base school?

School-Weighted GPA is never used for anything outside of the student’s own school. That’s it. Stop obsessing over it.

Thank you and appreciate very much!
I wonder what difference is between math 4 and math 5 . My kid is taking math 4 now. They will learn trigonometry with 2 units, 1 unit of vector, 1 unit of matrices, and 1 unit of parameter . In fact, they will learn almost of the precalculus textbook except the last two chapters about statistic and simple calculus.

If cross-walking to the textbook chapters,

Math 4 covers: chapter 1, 2, 4, & 5, 6, 8, and 9

Math 5 covers: quick review of chapter 4 &5, chapter 3, chapter 10, 7, & 12, in that order.

It helps to enter TJ with solid middle school math fluency. Math courses move fast and go in-depth. TJ has done a great job of putting together a rigorous Math 4 & 5 precalc curriculum, that once these two are mastered, student are well-prepared to take on Calc BC with confidence, and two more years worth of advanced math if interested.

Basically if you get a B or above in M4 and M5, colleges will look favorably at your application. Colleges know how hard these courses are at TJ.

Dont worry about the GPA boost from an AP qualification at other base schools. They are not even in the same league
