To who? The only people getting the transcript are other schools. Parents can see their kids grades in Synergy. |
| Well, if you’re going to advocate changing the grading policy, how about using the quarter percentages to average together and determine the semester course grade for HS classes. That alone would be meaningful and could still maintain the current transcript. |
And what is the reason for 79.5 + 89.5 is an A? |
They round up. |
LOL. I'm a high school teacher and I have 33 (of 112 total) students who have 3 or more unexcused absences already.. and we just finished the 2nd week of the semester. But I do sincerely hope something does change. A lot of students (and their families) seem to think school is optional these days. |
I thought it was optional. We were told that as long as we do not miss more than 10 days in a row, we can stay enrolled in school. Has that changed? |
This is anecdotal only slacker kids slack off. |
They round up to the nearest 1 for each quarter (but this isn't policy, just teacher choice?) then up to the nearest 10 for each semester. |
It will just lead to more grade grubbing by students and parents. Why did you give Larla a 92 on that essay rather than a 93. It’s going to ruin her GPA! |
The grading and reporting regulation IKA-RA specifies that an A is 90-100, B is 80-89, C is 70-79, etc. So when a student's marking period grade is 89.5 or higher, the rounding up happens and the system is configured to assign an A grade. If they wanted to eliminate the rounding up, they could revise the regulation so a B is 80-89.9, etc. |
