Lake or Locklyn aren't very good as a first name. Why not middle name?

Laughlin.

I like Lake as a first name for a girl, not sure for a boy.

Lachlan and Lake are fine. I knew a male Lake growing up, but I like it for a girl. Especially if there is a family connection. I do not like Lakelyn at all.

Just Lynn would do it. Apparently that means lake or pool and it's Celtic.

I know a girl named Layken.

I think Lachlan is a nice name if you are Scottish. The girls name you chose is awful.

So what?

Lake can be a first name for a boy or a girl. Lacklyn / Locklyn sound like made up Mormon names like Brayden, Zayden, etc.

Blake?

Or just Lake

Go ahead, but I will judge you and I will be pre-disposed against the kid's resume when it comes across my desk. Kids with wacky names have wacky parents and baggage and I don't need that nonsense.

Lachlan is nice for a boy, and Lake for a girl.

Anonymous wrote:If you really want to honor your surname, just use Lake for a girl not a misspelled, invented feminization of a male name that sort of references your surname (Lachlan means land of the lakes, not Lake. Locklyn means nothing at all).

Just name the kid Butter.

Don’t name a girl Lake.
