Is Obama the POTUS or an American Idol winner?

You mean like when Bush went on SNL? Like when Nixon went on Laugh In? Or Clinton went on Arsenio Hall? Or Bush's clip for WWE Raw (wrestling?) Or when Bush did Letterman? Or George HW Bush on Good Morning America?

When do we get to judge Obama by Obama criteria pray tell?

I think I see where the confusion comes in here: You see, approximately half the voters in the country elected the WORST US PRESIDENT OF THE LAST HUNDRED YEARS... FUCKING **TWICE**. It's going to take twenty years to clean up the damage. And they're still too fucking obtuse to wrap their brains around exactly *why* he was a bad fucking president. In fact, they're preparing to double down, and nominate some ignorant, bottom-feeder fuckwit in 2012 as well. 'Cause they didn't finish off the country the first time around, they want to nominate some proud ignoramous like Sarah Palin in order to deliver the coup de grace, ending the American Experiment.

So, yeah, while Obama's not perfect, only folks either completely ignorant of American politics--or those completely blinkered by ideological myopia--think that Bush is irrelevant to evaluating Obama. Unfortunately, that's pretty much comprehensively describes the GOP coalition.

He answered the question posed to him by daughter of the predecessor of Liz Crenshaw. He should have given her a presidential answer as in "that is a state secret." Unfortunately, presidents, first laldies, and other high ranking politicians find it necessary to get down deep and dirty withthe hoi poloi. That the way it is in our political climate and instant comunication. I'm sick of Obama, his wife, daughters, but I do like the dog.

Turns out the women on the View asked Obama a fair number of hard questions. It's kind of insulting to them to insist that their show is too fluffy for the president. Certainly had to be more challenging than those other shows mentioned above.

Really? Hard questions like who is Lindsay Lohan or what do you think of Mel Gibson or Snooki? or the really hard one, what are the first 2 songs on your ipod?

The only one who asked questions that were worth listening to was Elizabeth Hasselback.

Okay, I'll fess up -- I watched a piece on the Daily Show about it. Here's the link:

The montage of issues raised by the people on the View is about 2:30 minutes in. After a few short clips of George Bush looking a little silly on...wait for it....day-time television.

I loved how W went on daytime christian TV during the 2000 campaign to swear that he was a born-again christian.

John Stewart had a really funny bit on the Daily Show yesterday, showing all the times Bush was on stupid TV shows. (Dr. Phil, anyone?)

So it's not Obama, just the way things are. get over it.

He must have been born again, and again, and again. Like every few months it had to be redone.

You should really watch the interview. The majority of the questions were about Afghanistan, Iraq, healthcare, etc. They did a 5 minute pop-culture q&a. I think an honest debate on this issue is healthy, but it should be, you know, honest.

That and groping foreign heads of state. The fact that you're not creating silly discussions with the title "Thank Goodness We've Got an Adult With a Work Ethic, Instead of That Dry Drunk Manchild We Accidentally Elected" says everything anyone needs to know about your judgement and your opinions.

Actually everything I've heard states that he woke up early and started working in the Oval office at 6:30 to 6:40am daily.
You are insulting many people who have choked on baked snacks or less.

I had a friend who worked in the White House and SOP says that everyone works the hours that the President works. Bush was notorious for working long hours... in early and out late. Obama works a much more typical day, owing partly to his young children. This isn't meant as an attack or endorsement of either, just a recognition of the facts. What they did with their time in office obviously is up for much debate and analysis, but when they were in office, at least in terms of hours of the day, is a matter of record.
