Dating myself, but there used to be a bar in Eastern Market called Mardi Gras, and that was a place to be.

Wow. I instantly thought of a bar between Washington Circle and Georgetown but I think it was Lulus. Don't know why I got a Mardi Gras vibe from it. Maybe they had a Mardi Gras celebration back in the day.

Yes, indeed! Lulu's was on 22nd and M Streets, NW Dupont Circle, Washington, District of Columbia. I was a bartender at Lulu's for 10+ years...It's a good chance we have met before. Such a fantastic event every Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras...and yes, the club was New Orleans themed year round. **Fun Fact...'Lulu' was Blackie Auger's wife!
That's right, Blackie's House of Beef...there were several locations for their famous Prime Rib and Cajun Fare! With the main location in the same building as Lulu's. I guess all good things come to an end, as the saying goes...
