how did you deal with them?

Call animal control.

Animal control can’t do anything for noises.
They don’t want the liability of dealing with duct work either.
Call a pest control company.

Adcock is great. I had them out over the summer for what I thought were squirrels in the attic. I’ve had them before, and they’ve helped in the past.

Turns out they weren’t actually in the attic
yet, so no trapping needed.

They crawled into my attic, did a thorough inspection, pointed out weak areas in my roof and showed me areas that could be reinforced.

They could have said I had an army of critters
in my attic and then charged me for removal, I’d have not known the difference, so I give them extra points for being honest.

I’d call them again with no hesitation.

Squirrel removal and roof and rake board repairs to fix the damage they cause can be really expensive. Needless to say I absolutely hate squirrels.

The squirrels aren’t the problem. The problem is if they are with their moose buddy.

Holy crap! I would not be able to stay in the house if I knew that!

Thank you all for your replies. We put in ring camera and it turned out to be a squirrel. Called adcockstrapping and they will come in tomorrow to set the trap.
