| Yes my boyfriend due to his length of service in public service/non profit jobs. |
PSLF or military, few years of service. No catch. |
Which is perfectly fine! They met their loan forgiveness obligation and 10 years of public service is admirable. |
| I don't remember how much was forgiven, but I'd guess about 10k out of 40k. This was years ago, for teaching in Title 1 schools in SE DC. |
| Several, public service |
| Husband and I both had loans forgiven through PSLF. |

I didn't have a lot of debt- like $25K and I was in an old repayment option so I paid less than $100 a month. I was almost done when covid hit and was planning on restarting and paying off the tiny amount left.
Then I got a check in the fall for $25K. I don't know why and I can't get any info from Department of Ed. |
You might want to find out if there are any tax implications. |
Year 10 and 11 were likely under Trump. Thousands weren't getting them forgiven during DeVos years. |
| We consolidated loans in hopes of it happening (it was supposed to for us), and then they changed the rules. We're not paying all of it off in case it could still happen. |
Serious question. Are you gambling extra interest paid “just in case” it gets forgiven? But what if it doesn’t happen? |
The interest is not high. It's about 25k and we can pay it off any time. It would just be stupid to pay it all off and then our group gets forgiven. |
You are probably right! I am just thankful that it's done. |
| Yes- my niece and her husband. One in public service and one a teacher. |
| I had debt during the years 95% of the public servants were denied forgiveness. |
