Semaglutide/food aversion

It takes 3-4 weeks for you to get to the full effects of the dose you are on. So if you feel aversion now, you may feel worse or less hungry later. I am on it and have lost 35 but I am at a holding dose right now. After several dose increases over time, I just feel bad a lot. So I went back a dose to give my system and my mental health a break. Still losing but my slower now and that is ok. It’s a powerful drug.

I think many of you are having psychosomatic food aversions. I took it for 11 months, lost 54 pounds, and never had a side effect or food aversion (I was just less hungry and ate less).

Orrrrrr..... people are different and have different experiences with the same drug.

I've been on it for a year and have no specific food aversions, but food and alcohol just don't taste as good or irresistible to me, even when I'm eating something I used to really enjoy. TBH that does take a lot of pleasure out of life, but I'm losing weight for health reasons so I've come to accept it.

Everyone that starts a diet generally loses 3-5 the first week - most of it is just your body dumping water. Besides weight loss isn’t linear - mostly due to water retention. I could lose nothing for a month but day 31 I’ll drop 4 pounds overnight as my water release- then I’ll be up a pound for a couple of weeks and then down 3. I probably average a pound a week but my chart doesn’t read that way.

I had an aversion to white wine, anything really strong smelling or spicy, and tomato sauce for a while. Also had an aversion to fried foods but I had that before due to gall bladder surgery. That’s mostly faded now. I’ve lost 37 lbs and starting to taper down.
