Thank so much! |
Many SMCS students join the science club for Science Olympiad, Science Bowl, etc. Also many try out for the math team. Rock band is a class, not a club. The band teacher Ms. Levy is fantastic. |
Thank you. It's funny how their paths change. My kid is similar to yours, loves Math, shows interest in coding. Crossing my fingers she gets in since it looks like she may fit right in. Since you are in tech, what can I do to encourage coding? I will look into the Raspberry Pi. No idea what that is. She does Khan Academy when she is bored and I think that's where she found out about coding. |
There is actually something called 'Lost in Space for 30 days ' which is a hardware kit you connect to your laptop or desktop. It features a series of youtube videos that walk you through coding lessons over a 30 day period (or at your own speed). The gist is you are stuck on a remote planet and you need to program your way off the planet. You can find the kit on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/inventr-io-Adventure-Kit-Compatible-Engineering/dp/B0BKH3CW7X And to give you a little more information, there is a youtube review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC3Qec2SL8k that gives a little more info. |
