Definitely see an orthopedic surgeon to get diagnosed. I had shoulder pain, limited mobility, etc. and I was prescribed an MRI to confirm no tear, and diagnosed with frozen shoulder. I got a cortisone injection to allow me to do PT with minimal pain. The location of the cortisone shot in your shoulder depends on the injury so they are kind of diagnostic (I needed two to get the right spot).
