Bangkok 54 has the most authentic prepared foods in the area in their super market. Their little cafe has legit soups too to eat a quick lunch.

Everything's better in CA.

I thought this was just a NY thing. Can’t count how many New Yorkers I’ve met that despise the food in DC. As they frequently say, “it’s always better back home.” I in turn always think, but don’t say “then what are you doing here if it’s so bad.”

I have been to NY plenty of times. It’s just like DC, or any major city- lots of really good food and a lot of pretty pedestrian fare. For New Yorkers, they commonly complain about pizza. It’s 2024, the secret on pizza has been out for years. It’s not hard to find a good pie in most of the U.S.

The CA thing is the produce. Could also be the air, depending on where you are, but the produce is just better there.
