1 kid ill

My other child has a very important tryout that can’t be rescheduled tomorrow. Assuming they feel fine, okay to let them go as planned? This is a rare opportunity for DC2.

Yes, of course. I hope your other kid isn't sick tomorrow! Try to not spread germs between yourselves until then.

Yet 3 years ago the advice would have been to keep healthy siblings home.

How times change.

OP, your healthy child should go to the tryout.

Because 3 years ago we had a PANDEMIC that killed millions worldwide and the first Pfizer vaccine had only just been released for distribution to 16 year olds and older.

Stop with the false equivalencies, you absolute moron.

I double checked to make sure I was reading the teen forum. DC2 goes on with life as normal. How is this even a question?

Do not send the second kid, they're most like sick but won't see the vomiting or stomach stuff for 24-48 hours don't spread this around op. Also know that only bleach kills norovirus. This is highly contagious and you should not be trying to spread this anymore!

This is not good advice. We have plenty of times that one kid gets sick and the other doesn’t — even when we don’t take precautions. This happened with a stomach bug last year.

Let the kid go to the try out unless they have symptoms.

Meh, no. Bad advice.

If he’s not sick and no fever- send him.

People are crazy if they think anyone is keeping a kid home from school or tryouts because a friend or someone else I’m the family is sick.

We have often had situations where only 1 family member is sick and nobody else gets it.

Kids are back in school. They are being exposed every day.

OP, I’d be more concerned if he feels at his best—if he’s not and starting to come down with something—better not to have the first impression of not being 100%

Some moms trying to keep tryout numbers down. Lol

Yes, let them go unless they start to feel sick. I have 3 kids and someone seems to always be sick but their siblings still go to school.
It still could be norovirus though , My entire family recently had this with varying degrees. I thought I was fine after all the cleaning, disinfecting, and handwashing but then I ended up with it 2 days after the last kid recovered.

Kids and the rest of us are getting sick and everyone is sharing it because of people like you.

JFC Karen. Unless you never leave your house you are surrounded by people who may or may not be sick. It’s been this way since the beginning of time.
