Does anyone blowdry and flat iron daily and still have healthy hair?

I style my hair 3-5 times per year, and my stylists always just MELT over how healthy my hair is (I am in my 40s with long hair). Day to day, it looks like I don’t style it. I have never dyed it.

I WFH so I only need to style it rarely. My hair is soft as silk and very full in a way that only virgin hair can be. You can pick—regular styling or healthy hair. It’s science.

My stylists 'melt' too. And use heat to style 1-2 times a week.

First of all, yes, my hair holds up fine to daily blow drying. Daily straightening I think would fry anyone’s hair. I highly recommend this tool as less damaging. Note it is not a dryer/drying brush like the revlon. https://www.sephora.com/product/mane-it-s-giving-body-medium-hot-round-brush-P510707?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2768182&om_mmc=ppc-GG_17791296871___2768182__9052534_t&country_switch=us&lang=en&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb1W02FwXhhnsr0yoRLqk1Z0V&gclid=CjwKCAjw2dG1BhB4EiwA998cqJ4kZXj-YeR7S_xvTeWh7oy1RS-kxz6qTLKRHFwTNqTUo9uu_sFKcxoCD-kQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds It is for taming your hair

That's not true. If your hair is natural color or dyed with a gloss or semi-permanent dye, you can blow dry and iron every day. I do for the past 20 years and I never had any problems. Also washing it every day and using conditioner once in a while.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be possible with the highlights or stripped color all over.

it's been what, 25 years now? When is voluminous, non-flat hair going to come back in style? Still waiting for my time

I wash my hair every other day and blow dry it right after. I might smooth it over with a flat iron. My hair is healthy but I take all the precautions. There was a time I did it this and my hair wasn’t great but I think it was my technique, tools, doing no nos (like flat ironing while your hair is wet, without protectant etc).

No.

For me, the key has been to wash my hair every three days. That way I don’t really have to blow dry it much except for the days I wash it. In between, I dry the roots with a quick blast from the hair dryer and style with Velcro rollers for volume.

Yikes who still does these in 2024? They’re so bad for you!

I embraced my natural waves a few years ago but previously I straightened daily and have always had very healthy hair, I think it’s just sort of luck. I have never used any sort of heat protectant.

Now I shampoo/wash every four days. I have bad scalp psoriasis that get worse when it air dries so I have to blow dry every time. But my hair still is healthy.

I wash my hair straighten with a blowdryer once a week, use hair dryer or flat iron to fix up a bit every day probably. Have breakage in the front; rest of it looks fine. Would a Dyson really make any difference or is it just the heat. Trying to use warm instead of hot....
