Not really, just that it doesn’t grow on trees! They thought it wasn’t polite to discuss to talk about money or ask how much things cost.
I talk with my friends now about 401, pensions, etc; not how much is in them but just the workings of them. I don’t remember my parents and their friends ever discussing money. We were middle class. |
| No, and my parents did increasingly well over my childhood but we were never supposed to ask what anything cost or why we were moving to a much nicer neighborhood. I made some really dumb financial mistakes in my 20s and really wish I had some basic financial literacy or just some practical tips to make better decisions. We’re trying to do things differently with our teenagers. |
