Cold and cough that has lasted a month

I had something similar last year--probably adenovirus. Rx tussin pearls helped with the cough.

Could be RSV.

We just recovered from a month of exactly what you are describing.

+1. My DS was just sick over the holidays with the same symptoms. The cough was getting worse, not better, then the doctor discovered he also had an ear infection. Now after taking antibiotics for the ear, the cough is finally getting better.

RSV likely agree. Can't do antibiotics. Just symptomatic relief. In our 5th week but may be getting better - never have the kids had it for this long. No Fever or anything else.

One more for RSV. DD tested positive for RSV and I would guess this is what we had too. Miserable month.

Mucinex if they’re old enough. Dimetap or equivalent if they’re not.

I had a 4 week cold in December.

Our pediatrician tests for strep, covid, flu, and RSV—so I suspect most doctors do.

Kids were negative for all 4, and doctor said we are dealing with one of the other upper respiratory viruses going around.

It’s brutal.

I’m on Day 8. Still have an awful cough and my ear is completely clogged.
