I still have $35 on a visa gift card from four years ago. It’s a nice thought but they are hard to use.

What? Just use it at the grocery store.

It’s been declined unless it’s the exact amount.

Have the cashier
Spit the transaction. Tell them the amount on the card.

We give $100 to each of the teachers. There’s no hard and fast rule, do what you can.

We give a $75 Amazon gift card to each room teacher and also contribute $100 to the center-wide collection that is coordinated.

I did the $50 but would have liked to do $100 (really $1,000 because we think our teacher is the most amazing person ever and deserves it but that’s not in the budget). I think anything is appreciated so just go with what you think is a nice amount and can afford.

Gift cards $25 and above…
One parent asked what kind of coffee a teacher likes, then brought that in along with the card.
It was sweet.

I dunno, we did this and it felt a little empty. They didn't really acknowledge the gift and I wonder if it's insulting because it's not like we can give enough that really makes a difference for them, especially given the large number of teachers that interact with our child.

Trust me, cash is what we need! “Insulting” would be like $5, but nobody in my experience has ever given a measly amount. If that were their case, they would give nothing, a card or a token gift. Most people do at least 20 which is appreciated course.

A class of 20 kids and each parent giving $20 is $400 and that's tax free and not insignificant. Personally. I don't believe in tipping professionals and teaching is a profession but as teachers are grossly underpaid, tipping is necessary.

That is $65 per teacher in my child's class

Double check the balance. Then buy an Amazon gift card for the exact balance, pay with the gift card and apply the gift card to your account.
