From the website: https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/financial-support/scholarships
Evans Scholarship: The Evans Scholars Program awards full housing and tuition college scholarships to deserving caddies. Is that a typo? Regarding "no athletic scholarships," I'm wondering if "merit aid" is sometimes thrown at athletes in lieu of a straight up athletic scholarship -- not specifically at U of Chicago, but also at places like Oberlin, etc. (I have no idea, just wondering out loud.) |
Of the twelve listed in your link only one is for URM (Hispanic). I wouldn't call that 8% "primarily" |
It is a big golf association. Some people grow up playing golf. Some don't. |
So they are giving out extra merit aid to athletes? |
| the Evans scholarship is not unique to chicago. I think you can use it anywhere |
| Check out the College Confidential ED/EA thread for Chicago this fall. There’s a lot of info/stats etc. I don’t think anyone on there was accepted EA, it’s tough. |
| It also requires caddies to show financial need |
the reddit thread is a lot more active (by a factor of 10x) and has lots of EA and ED acceptances. |
|
EA and RD is very difficult.
last year they accepted 1800 kids out of almost 40000 applicants the rumor is half ED and the other other half RD and EA and WL. |
| How to find reddit thread? |
Does the reddit thread have stats for those accepted? Wondering if DC is even close. |
Hispanic, teachers, police, rural, local Chicago, and a bunch of gen pop scholarships also |
You mean if I underpay my caddie then I'll get a discount on tuition? |
