Child's classroom smells like cigarettes

I had a friend in high school whose parents smoked and she smelled of cigarette smoke a lot. Got "in trouble" once for smoking, which was so sad because she hated it so much.

I feel like it’s this too. Someone is doing something in the building that they shouldn’t or is smoking too close to the HVAC intake outside. I think it would have to be really bad on the kids clothes to carry a strong smell to school and if that’s the case there’s probably other stuff going on at home too.

Ugh, this. I feel so sad when an early elementary child walks by and smells like weed.

It’s not better than smelling like weed. Both are equally bad….

You could provide the teacher an air purifier - the smaller ones meant for a bedroom would be perfect.

In 7th grade my teacher was handing back papers and said he knew my parents smoked because my schoolwork smelled of smoke, i was mortified!
