I just don't like cold ankles.
Also this time of year, I'm more likely to pull a pair of boots on than sneakers, so I wear socks appropriate for boots. |
|
I equate yoga pants with a bootcut or straight leg - are you tucking THOSE into socks? That's weird.
If you're tucking regular leggings into socket that's normal. |
| I'm with you OP - such an ugly look. I grew up in the 90s and know we did scrunchy/slouchy socks but I can't believe my DD goes out with white tube socks over yoga pants. I get that it keeps ankles warm, but aesthetically...yuck. |
Same. |
| Can be cute on people with long legs. Looks terrible on short-legged folks like me. |
Short legged person here. I do it because I’d like to be warm. Not about fashion. |
o +1 the 20-somethings at my workout studio do the same. I read an article a month or so ago about telling a person’s age on whether they wore the socks like this. Personally, I like my ankles to show in yoga pants. I have skinny ankles and my legs and entire lower body looks better without socks pulled over yoga pants. I might wear Uggs yo and from studio in winter though. |
There were definitely non-stirrup leggings in the 90s. I had a few pairs of leggings I would wear with oversized sweaters. Probably from Express or the Limited! |
Oh, stop hating your body. You can wear whatever you want, it looks fine. |
Gen X was all over this look back in the day. I remember when we’d wear two different colored socks and then scrunch them. |
+1 I’m loving how our fashion from the 90s is back. |
