You sound like an unsupportive parent. Why wouldn’t you be interested in something that your kid is also interested in. Why wouldn’t you follow up with them when they got their decision to make sure they’re OK?

I'm supportive. My kids interests are not my interests. Do you expect your kid to be interested in your pickleball and book club? No. By senior year my kids can manage their own emotions, and also know they can come to me (or their other parent, or their grandparents, or sibling, or close friends) if they want to talk. "...make sure they're OK"???? Why WOULDN'T they be okay? That's ridiculous.

Failure of a parent.

Nope. Successful independent senior ready to go off on their own to college.

My kid just got an email that the decision was in the portal. No need for spreadsheets.

NP. OMG. B/c that's what a kid wants after they get rejected from their dream school, their mom hovering at their door, repeatedly asking them what happened and if they want to talk about it.

Lady, give your kid some space.

That's what we did, along with EA and RD due dates, cost, etc.

Super helpful.

DCs had their own spreadsheets.

Full pay so cost was irrelevant.

Helpful for knowing about the ED dates for friends' DCs. We already knew DCs' dates.
