Mexico City w/5yo

I disagree with skipping the Anthropologie museum. If there are two parents and the kid gets bored one can hang out with the kid in the courtyard while the other keeps looking around and then you can swap. Make sure to check out the voladores outside.

Your kid might like the balet folklorico and Bellas artes is a beautiful building.

Our kid climbed the temple of the sun at Teotihuacán when she was 4. Depends on your kids stamina and will!

Our kids loved casa azul (lots of kids books to read about Frida Kahlo before you go) as well as the murals at the palacio nacional and the SEP building.

Make sure to account for the altitude and the exhaustion of being in a super stimulating and bustling city.

There are SO MANY other places to go - why would you go somewhere with state department advisories out on it????

Is State Department warning Mexico?
Mexico State (Estado de Mexico) – Exercise Increased Caution

Both violent and non-violent crime occur throughout Mexico State. Use additional caution in areas outside of the frequented tourist areas, although petty crime occurs frequently in tourist areas as well.Aug 22, 2023

This is nuts. Nuts.

Unless you are extremely wealthy and also well known, or a narco boss, you absolutely do not need security guards.

PP, guessing you've never been to Mexico City or any middle income countries?

It is not. Many companies will not allow execs to go without armed guards. Our CEO went and was met with a security team -- all suggested by our outside security company which is headed by ex FBI and CIA. Threats are real against anyone.

You don't understand why a security company would recommend you get ... security?

A wonderful way to draw attention to yourself on Mexico is to ride around in a black Suburban and with couple dudes in black suits, black ties, white shirts, wearing earpieces.
