PP Here. Case in point - no one edited my work. It should be having someone provide feedback..... |
Are you actually insane? |
| I'm an editor. My kids let me read their essays, and accepted some mild feedback. They are 100% their own work. I would not have over-edited them, but I think my feedback was well within bounds. |
| I think the writing curriculum has changed in unhelpful ways since I was a kid. Too much focus on what is called "small moments" writing and journaling. It's meant to encourage kids by offering relatable, personal topics. But my kids hate that kind of writing. I also think teachers have been trained to grade differently. They are sparing with red ink now. So kids don't learn what typical patterns of mistakes they make. And grammar training is dead just like any formal handwriting training beyond just making letters that can be read. |
Yes she is, I pity her poor sons. |
I’m fairly sure that post isn’t real. Pretty funny though |
that sounds like a LOT |
It’s good you didn’t edit for spelling. |
I’m sure they’re just a troll. |
💯 all of this |
I can relate….a bit |
The answer is yes! |
College prof here. Please know that when my students turn in papers, I'm not looking for "their voice" redacted through a bunch of other interference. I'm looking for their own actual work. If you don't know where those boundaries get blurry, try reading the instructional / descriptive webpages for a campus writing center. Going beyond that kind of instructional feedback verges into ghostwriting. |
| OP, there are MANY other threads on this topic with lists of providers given. |
| None. I would not pay a penny for this, not in a million years. Are you people unable to proofread a student's essay? |
