The positive response is because he really is great and it's an excellent choice. Hoping he can make headway on the many fronts to fix what DCUM has to complain about the school.

Can’t imagine a better choice. We’re thrilled and our kids are thrilled as well. He’s a true rock star!

+1. So glad they didn’t succumb to any pressure to hire an outsider when someone so qualified was right there.

Very nice guy, safe pair of hands, but I don’t expect him to shake things up much.

He's fantastic and just a nice, thoughtful guy. Agree great choice.

He has had enough conversation with parents over the years to know where there are issues that can be addressed. It doesn't need "shaking up" but awareness of where things based on constructive criticism can yield some tweaks and oversight to make things better.

This is a key point. He's one of the few administrators who has been available to parents, genuinely listens, and doesn't act like every parent is a pain in the neck.

I agree. He is universally liked and is an incredible communicator. He is so responsive, which is really comforting when you need to ask questions about something child related. He's warm and has a great rapport with the teachers, parents, and kids. It's a win I think. I'm glad they gave it to him and am looking forward to ways he's going to make it his own!
