Sandra Day O’Connor dead at 93

A lot of coverage for a bunch of super old people dying. It’s a miracle they lived as long as they did.

Don't forget the great Charlie Munger.

I hope John Riggins is able to attend the funeral.

She was the original trailblazer, the first to break that glass ceiling, and mostly a conscious moderate on the bench and a prudent jurist. All the SC gender attention usually goes to RBG but SDO paved the way for every woman after her. I always have deeply admired her.

Well said!

Thanks for your service SDO!

Don’t worry. When you die there won’t be any coverage, so it’s all good.

You're correct. Thanks.

They were people who made significant contributions to.mankind and their lives should be celebrated. It is sad that you do not understand this.

I loved her comment about being the first woman to be a SC justice. She didn't want to be the first as well as the the last, but to forge a path for the future for women, which she did. I won't live long enough to see a court with all women but I envision this fifty years from now.

She failed the country with her Bush v Gore vote.

The SC should not have been the arbiter of this, or any, election. In such a scenario then the popular vote takes precedence.

This appears to be Sandra Day O’Connor posing with some members of a Randall Lineback herd. Googling this yields nothing now I’m wondering what was her connection to America’s rarest breed of cattle. The website doesn’t supply any info. https://www.randalllineback.org/photo-gallery/ev4fvcznvu20cw4xkt7jajbrfczu0f

Not remotely political, but an interesting side to her.

She was a ranch girl all along. It came out her her biography that William Rehnquist asked her to marry him but he couldn’t manage the ranch at all so she turned him down.
