My son wanted either one of the sports brands or jansport. I wouldn’t spend money on LL bean — just get one of the larger sized ones from these brands in black, navy or dark grey.

My son has an under armor backpack that has lasted 4 years in near perfect condition. Sports, school, being drug around etc. great and not expensive backpack.

This is PP, I will add that he got this in 6th grade and is now going in to 10th. It’s the one with a zipper pocket in the bottom for cleats, extra clothes etc.

Jansport (you can buy them at kohls, target, Macy’s, staples, Best Buy, Amazon)

Swiss gear (Best Buy has them on sale)

North face are good as well.
