Prospect Camps

I assume you will be able to tell how they feel based on if they seek her out at their prospect day because they cannot have contact with her afterwards? How do they show interest- reach out to her club? Keep viewing her videos on Sportsrecruits?

I still don't know how you decide on a school that is not at the top but she would consider if they were interested in her- those feel like a shot in the dark and possibly a waste. I know current junior girls who did multiple prospects camps at same school and heard nothing from them on 9/1, did one days at multiple different schools and heard from some and not others on 9/1, and then heard from schools they had never considered or were on their radar on 9/1.

It might be different/easier for girls heading to top 15 D1's, but I don't know how the next group of girls figures it all out.

Your last question is my daughter so thank you for that. This all feels crazy to me and I can’t figure out how to size it all up.

If my sophomore daughter goes to a winter clinic she can’t really hear from coaches, right?

College coaches are not allowed to reach out directly to athletes until Sept 1 of their junior year. They can reach out to the recruiting director of your DD's club team or coaches. So build that relationship and have your daughter stay in touch with them. Be prepared for lots of ups and downs where the recruiting profile is viewed by coaches you are excited about but never hear from, or coaches you are not interested in for your daughter. The only thing you can impact is to work with your daughter to stay focused on her goals and improving her skills so that she does well at any tourney or prospect day, showcase, etc. Keep her positive and moving forward. The rest will come together in a way that you can't orchestrate.

You hear through your coach or recruiting coordinator if a school has interest. The college coaches are talking/emailing /texting the club & HS coach. College coaches also connect with the club's recruiting coordinator about which players they are interested in... Then the coach or recruiting coordinator let the player know about the interest so then the player can decide to go to the prospect/winter ID camp. Your daughter can also see if that college is viewing her IWLCA profile & videos which can possibly indicate interest. Your daughter will not hear directly from a D1 coach until Sept 1 of junior year.
You can receive emails about camps and clinics from a coach which can be from a mailing list or be a direct email from the coaching staff.

You can always ask the recruiting coordinator or coach to reach out to the college before you sign up for the camp to see if they have your daughter on their list/radar.

Question about a program like St. Francis- the only D1 program without a commit. Do they reach out to players on 9/1 or wait to see where other players end up first? Have they made offers but give the girls open ended timelines to accept or has everyone declined? If your daughter reaches out to a D1 school right that has very few commits trying to gauge if they have a lot of offers on the table with open ended timelines or is there another reason why they have no commits.
