Which model? The one that grinds beans?

Unfortunately, while Breville makes some good espresso machines, they aren’t well known for superior grinders.

Silvia is a great machine. 12:13, You have a PID?

Baratza is great, made-in-USA with excellent customer service and all repair parts readily available. Also the new Encore has dual range so it can grind for espresso or filter coffee. Great price on that, too.

No, my Silvia is a very bare-bones model. It was a gift to myself after defending my doctoral dissertation.

That's awesome. You might consider the PID upgrade; the temperature stability will improve your shot-to-shot consistency.

We got a Delonghi that makes espresso, coffee, lattes, etc. Grinds its own beans. You literally hit a button. Was about $2k at Costco in 2020 and got us through the pandemic. Works wonderfully, and we use it multiple times every day.

This sounds great. Which model do you have?

The nerd again.

James Hoffmann has a few videos on bean-to-cup machines.

Obsessed with our JuraE6 - best investment for coffee and espresso!

Get a clever dripper! Takes up so much less space. Same brew time as French Press. No annoying standing around, pouring over.

Clever dripper and Hario Switch are essentially the same thing and can make excellent coffee.
