Please help. I'm having trouble with sunscreen

I love Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. It is very matte not greasy/oily and is clear so no white tint. I find it improves the appearance of the texture of my skin.

Just to be clear, I don’t get acne anymore. I just have scarring from it . Wondering if the clear sunscreens wind up oily on my face. The white ones seem better?

Then I got Supergoop sunscreen but it has a tint that isn't a good look on my skin color (pale white plus a lot of acne scarring plus rosacea - just trust me). Then I tried the Supergoop roll on sunscreen thinking this would be great! It turned out it was super oily. Apparently others have also found it to be oily.

Now I'm on Ahava "Protecting Moisturizing Lotion SPF 50" which I thought would be awesome because moisturizer and SPF in one! But it's glass. I need some other kind of sunscreen I can toss in my purse for touch ups when I've been outside for more than 90 minutes without it being so heavy or worrying it'll break. Can you give me suggestions? I want at least SPF 45. I burn pretty easily.

Keep trying Supergoops. I finally landed on Supergoop Sheer Screen mineral sunscreen (I only wear physical sunscreens). I'm obsessed with it and I think it improved the overall quality of my skin.

Elta MD, which I learned about from dcum many years ago.

EltaMD tinted mixed with Dermalogica moisturizer. I don’t reapply unless I’m really out in the sun and sweating. It keeps me from getting burnt. Plus I’d wear a visor if I was going to be outside for a long time.

My teen DD likes Black Girl Sunscreen Make It Matte SPF 45. She has oily acne prone skin. She tried many other brands, but they all stayed white and didn't blend into her skin well. She doesn't wear makeup.

OP here. I don't ever wear makeup. Does your Obagi come out clear or white?

It's white and dries clear.

I know so many people who love Elta MD Clear, but I found it to be horribly irritating and gluey in my pores. I have better luck with Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen.

+100 I hate face sunscreen but this is my HG. Also recently tried Ilia sunscreen foundation and like it, but still use Biore under

Oil of Olay works well unless you plan to be in direct sun for long periods of time. Neutrogena works for extended sunlight.

Signed,

My pale white skin is whiter than dead people yet I’ve never tanned or burned my face despite laying out in the sun

Same, EltaMD made my rosacea flame up terribly. Supergoop makes me oily but isn't irritating. Unfortunately I've yet to find a touch up option that doesn't make me oily.

I echo Elta MD, though I prefer the UV Daily and UV Restore over the UV Clear. My skin strongly dislikes niacinamide, which the UV Clear has in it.

I use Clinique Pep Start. It has a universal tint that can be used on any skin color. FWIW, I’m 53 and have been using Clinique since I was 13: https://www.clinique.com/product/1661/47339/sun-protection-self-tanners/sun-protection/clinique-pep-starttm-daily-uv-protector-broad-spectrum-spf-50

Seems kind of obvious, but maybe try Clinique again if you liked it and it worked for you.

I like the first aid beauty sunscreen- both the tinted and non-tinted. It is not oily or greasy and almost feels dry. It is great on my fair sensitive skin.

There is only a 1% difference in protection between SPF30 and 50. Anything beyond fifty is the same.

These are my two faves/recs as well. I have sensitive, fair skin and some rosacea and these work well for me. I like the Elta MD with tint as I use it as my daily base/in place of foundation.

This stuff, from this site--it's what they sell in Europe: https://www.caretobeauty.com/us/la-roche-posay-anthelios-uvmune-400-oil-control-gel-cream-non-perfumed-spf50-50ml/

It's so good. So much better than anything else I've ever tried. Formulated differently than what they sell in the US.

If you like something thinner, this is also good: https://www.caretobeauty.com/us/la-roche-posay-anthelios-uvmune-400-invisible-fluid-fragrance-free-spf50-50ml/
