Elderly people have kids and grandkids. |
| At least the US Park Police aren’t afraid to return fire. DC police probably have to call “violence interrupters.” |
MPD would’ve let the guy walk and not intervened, even if they witnessed blatant criminal activity. This dude did not expect to be confronted by a cop, likely because he’s done crap in front of MPD without a care in the world. He panicked because he’s not accustomed to being confronted by a cop legitimately doing their job. Kudos to the cop. I hope he recovers ok and gets plenty of time to recover with his family. |
This is unfortunately true way too often and an underreported part of the DC crime story. |
Do you blame them? If this criminal from yesterday had missed the officer with his bullets, people would be protesting today (and probably breaking windows, looting and stealing, come nightfall) because a cop “shot and killed a black man”. Nevermind the circumstances, right? All that matters is cop shot a black guy. So do you blame them for sitting in their cars and doing nothing? Because even if they did their jobs to a flawless standard we wouldn’t hold any other profession to, people will still find fault and attempt to ruin their career or even imprison them, if the person they shot in the lawful course of their duties is a POC. People like you have created this. Now you’re outraged that cops are sitting on their hands? Too damn bad. This is the way it is from now on. Get used to it. |
| Much like the teenage carjacker justifiably shot and killed earlier this month, this criminal had a long rap sheet and would still be alive today if authorities had him in jail where he belongs. |
| This is going to become a trend. Criminals will have to learn the hard way. |
Unfortunately, smart police officers will learn from this incident that it’s better not to confront these guys if they want to live. |
| Most of DC council and the mayor would be in prison if we did this |
|
Yet there had to be a supreme court case and hoop after hoop for our household to have a legally registered firearm. I have zero issue with that. I do question the irony of where the city brings down the hammer of the law. Not on actual criminals. |

The average murderer in DC has more than 11 felonies. Al these guys are well known to the police, prosecutors, and judges. I give up. I live a hundred yards from the DC border. I don't go downtown at all anymore if I can avoid it. It's not like I'm particularly sensitive, but on a Wednesday evening there are far better options than dealing with all the garbage in DC. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't bother with DC anymore. Think it would be a tough place to run a restaurant or coffee shop today |

When will he be charged with murdering an aspiring rapper? |
