| Wow, how did generations of parents dress their kids for cold weather before the internet? |
It may also impede potty use if they're not used to removing so many layers. |
| You don’t need all these base layers or wool socks or whatever. Normal clothes, warm coat. You’ll need a waterproof coat and snow pants and boots and waterproof mittens for snow days. My kids just use that one as their main coat. |
Any recommendations for specific products? I think I have everything except waterproof options. |
Lands End has good options. |
Or LL Bean |
It was quasi outdoor. They spent more than half a day outside. This was during the pandemic and they also ate outside a lot of the time. They had a tent like structure outdoors to shelter from rain. I don't recall at what specific temperature they said they would reduce the outside time. |
This is OP. The above response is not from me. My DS is at a morning preschool with about an hour of outside time. Think they go outside except for very bad weather. All helpful suggestions, everyone! |
He needs taller socks, boots or high top shoes that cover his ankles more, a warm hat and mittens. (our daycare requires coat, hat and mittens) Per daycare law they don't take them out when it's below freezing, so I wouldn't worry too much. They are so warm inside, then they run like crazy for 30 min, come in and get warm and then go out again later for 30 min. |
| We use the lands end puffy pants for toddlers- they’re great! Just put them over their clothes and they can get outside and muck about. |
You can't figure out how to dress s child for cold weather? Unbelievable! |
Maybe they used their God-given common sense! Is it possible that 99% of parents today have no common sense? |
