Will be curious to see what effect this will have on interest/applications with CS extremely difficult to get into at Tech/UVA/UMD

This never ceases to baffle me. As long as I can remember, which is a long time and spans a few countries, you hear about this massive lack of people with computer / math / engineering skills. Then, if anyone wants to acquire such skills - nope! It's really selective! Well, all those screaming about China's 300 million engineers / STEM is so much fun! / we're falling behind!!!! - let those who want to do it, do it.

How about Harvard and MIT admit all the students who are qualified??

LOL.

UVA is not a top school for CS and never will be a top school for CS. It is a top school for entitled old southern attitude children to party and make “connections” on mom and dad’s dime.

It’s unfair to say that William & Mary just wants to be like UVA. They’re pretty different schools, and I think WM is fine with that.

This. Nice to see a reasonable, balanced UVA alum.

As in requiring CS majors to take a bunch of useless engineering classes?

No, as in this:

Wow, took them long enough! They are way behind many other schools. VT, for example.

Exactly!!

We throttle admissions in CS and Tech majors and then complain about shortages..

With a revitalized campus and two new schools coming this fall, lots to be excited about at W&M.

UVA is #36 here. William & Mary #70. Ahead of even Virginia Tech #53

Why does that matter?

What about it? Just says there a new school offering three majors. Seems pretty uninteresting.
