Rowhouse custom built in closet cost

Seems a bit high. We had a handyman/carpenter open up a hallway wall to enlarge a closet, put in custom shelves and drawers and paint and install a new door for under 3k. The drawers were a bit pricy since they had to customized. DC rowhouse as well.
