Disposable plates at a holiday drop-in?

Anonymous
We use real dishes. We have two dishwashers, and when we have this many people, we hire either one person to work in the kitchen, or caterers (who bring dishes). I wouldn't feel good about myself using disposable. I feel like that's for people having bbqs in the Deep South in the summer.

You're a snob.

OP here - fwiw DH is from Charleston/Mt Pleasant and his parents have a summer bbq that's catered with staff.

The Deep South summer bbqers are classier than I am with my holiday drop-in flailing.

I was at an event this summer that used disposable plates and cutlery from Costco. They were high quality.

Yes, of course I’m aware.

Disposable is fine of course. But I think I’d go with plain white instead of holiday theme.
