Who hosts a holiday meal without adequate food? |
| Mashed potatoes or stuffing or a fall vegetable like Brussels sprouts. |
|
We host a Friendsgiving each year, but it's not a potluck. When people ask what they can bring I always rotate between wine, sourdough rolls, dessert and flowers.
But I think it's the hosts' job to make sure there's enough food for everyone, not the guests (obviously I don't do potlucks). |
| Thank you for the ideas. I think some filling starch is the way to go. I hope the hosts have wine! |
| Is it 40 people plus 20 kids or are the kids included in the 40? Either way the host needs to provide some guidance. The host should make clear that people should bring enough of what they choose for 40/60 or should indicate that multiple people are needed to bring a certain item. |
Potluck. You get what you get and you don’t get upset. |

baked Macaroni and cheese (like the joy of cooking recipe)
Sister Shubert Parker house rolls (several pans of them) Squash casserole Corn pudding Honey baked ham Scalloped potatoes Brown rice ( the white rice, butter and consumme baked in the oven kind) Suateed breen beans |
| Mac n cheese and fruit |
| A couple large Chick-fil-A nugget trays. |
Is it normal to bring something that costs $200 when others are bringing some simple homemade dish? |
|
| Green bean casserole, obvs! |
I thought everyone on DUCM hated GBC! |

These are great ideas! Hosts should make an online sign up sheet.
|
| I’d bring a fall salad with pears and blue cheese |
