Also, +1 for why on gods green earth are you telling recruiters your salary? If anything you tell them the range you are looking for.

Frankly, I would take the cushy salary until you have enough saved that you can blow off working and just volunteer or whatever at whichever non profit you want. You can still find meaning in your time spent but if things go pear shaped you can just leave and go somewhere new.
