You could make a gift basket filled with some favorite snacks and treats. Get a basket from the dollar store, add snacks, wrap it up with some cellophane and ribbon and suddenly it looks “fancy”

If they’re into sports, Dick’s has fleece sports blankets that go on sale 2 for $20.

I bought 2 of these last year. They have different prints for different sports. They aren't too fancy and a little thin, but have been in constant use by everyone in the family.

I'd wrap:

Gift cards in big boxes
Hoodies
Room decor

I would not go the "five below" route because I don't want that stuff in my house. I'd just pick things I want them to have over the course of the next year. Gift cards are favored by all teens and useful.

There are a ton of squishmallows that are really fun, we use them as pillows on the sofa/guest bed too

+1 Keep checking TJ Maxx/Marshalls. They often have great Nike and Underarmour hoodies and pants that my boys love, usually for $19.99 or $24.99.

Maybe your kid would like the five below stuff? It's not for you, it's for them.
