I like it. Esther has a similar vibe and meaning. |
I went to school with one--people called her Ce-slut. |
I like it on paper but not aloud. My friend’s kid is Celeste and I never catch it when she says it. What about Cecilia of Celia? |
Not my favorite, but it's perfectly acceptable if you like it. |
What is the nickname? I like it. It has a nice ring and you do not hear it much. |
My sister hated her name Esther. Kids called her Polly Esther all the time in ES. |
Say it out loud with your last name several times in a row and see how the flow is. This can make a big difference. Check out this professional baby namer on Instagram. Here’s one of her baby name lists. It happens to have Celeste on it and perhaps seeing the other names she thinks have the same vibe will make you like it more. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cvad8givEyk/?igshid=Y2NkYjk0MDhjYg== |
Love it. I also don't know any nicknames associated with it. |
CeCe Leslie Les |
It makes me think of main tenor aria from Aida, "Celeste Aida," Heavenly Aida. |
It’s a name that I really want to like, but I just can’t. It looks pretty on paper, however, it doesn’t sound pleasing to the ear (in my opinion). It sounds too close to the word “molest” than I would like. However, I love Celene/Selene and Serene/Serena. |
I have heard Stella and Stelle as "updated" nicknames for it, though I think they are a stretch. But they might be good alternatives for OP if she wants to honor a family member with a similar name but doesn't love Celeste or it's other nicknames. |
That's a real stretch. |
Love it. It was almost our middle name choice.
For nicknames, Cece or Estie. |
I love Essie as a nickname.
“Sealy” is actually a very cute nickname, but not sure how you’d spell it. I don’t think her generation will think mattress when they hear it, but I could be wrong. |
