Bagel + cream cheese = $4.65?

Anonymous
I bought a half dozen bagels and a pint of cream cheese from The Chewish Deli in Old Town and it was...$26

I had to ask if they got the order right. Then they spun the Ipad around for payment and it had autoselected a 20% tip, which I had to manually switch to 0. It's a counter that sells bagels. Why would I tip a guy who handed me what I just bought?

First and last time I'll ever go there.

Who TF drops $32 on six bagels?

Because the margins have gotten higher. As mentioned above, a 1/4 chicken and two sides at all peruvian chicken joints was $6 in 2013. Now it is $12 or $13 dollars. Nothing else doubled in cost in the last 10 years.

I have never eaten a bagel. What do they taste like ? A french bread or a biscuit or a donut without sugar ?
Do they have gluten free and the best come from a bakery or the grocery store ?

Huh?

Working 9 - 5 instead of shifts is a MC/UMC thing.

Yeah that’s outrageous. The bagel isn’t worth more than a $1.00 and the cream cheese a super tub from a restaurant supply company.

Great. Now I want a bagel.

I HATE that place. $10 for a freaking microwaved egg and cheese. Plus, their bagels are terrible.

Not decent bagels.
