Halloween Bedtime

We host on Halloween and I’m sure our kids won’t be in bed before 10:30 or 11:00 once friends leave and they wind down. They never miss more than a day or two of school, so I’ll let them sleep and we may be late tomorrow.

Kids will almost certainly be asleep before getting home. Bedtime routine includes getting a bath and brushing teeth and pajamas.

If you have no concern with keeping kids up until 11pm on a school night, your kids will be fine if they skip bath and teeth brushing for 1 night. Put them in bed in their undies.

They wear pull-ups at night still, but yes it’s easy to just get them changed for bed even if they are half asleep

How does one “get their kids ready for bed” and then leave the house for a party . They are not ready for bed then. My kids go to bed a little later on Halloween, maybe 9 pm. It’s never been a big deal.

You can get them a bath early. They aren’t going to need another bath after 2 hours of trick or treating.

If your kids are elem age this is nuts.

My 6th grader is in bed reading. She went out with a friend around 630. Got back around 8. They poured their loot out traded a few piece, ate some then she put Jammie’s on and went to bed to read til 9. Then she’ll brush teeth and pee and put her light out. No need to stay up later than normal.

We skipped the bath, brushed extra good, and kids were in bed around 830. Wearing pjs under costume seems odd. Just bring them home earlier if you need the extra time.
