Exactly.

+1 We don't smoke or burn candles or have any fire going anywhere in the house when we are asleep. Nobody in our house is a sleepwalking firestarter. The people who made these rules don't get that fires are much more likely to happen during the day when people are awake to start them? These rules are illogical unless you ban certain fabrics for children at all times of day.

Not to mention, cotton is not really the fabric you need to be concerned about, it doesn't burn as easily. It was stuff like rayon and nylon that were burning easily back when those fabrics first started being used in clothing.

I kept telling my kids last night to stay away from the fire pits. Those damn Halloween costumes are seriously a risk.

Thankfully we only wear them one night a year, so that's good.

I just buy my kids the long john style cotton pjs. Cotton flannel sounds nice, but I can't imagine ordering pjs from Europe. That sounds like another parenting planet to me.

The rule is the pj's have to be tight fitting or flame resistant. You want loose fitting flannels pj's?

You will likely have to make them yourself or buy from Europe or Korea. When my kids were small they wore gowns and I always hated the polyester ones. Tjey dont wash well. I ended up buying them from a Korean manufacturer and paying shipping.

No. The rules are nuts and unnecessary.

For my 10yo DD, I actually bought some XS size ones from J Crew Factory. They are a bit long, but seem to work okay.

They actually have a cropped style that is not flannel, but works very well for my DD. Maybe an option.

For my DS, I get the ones from Old Navy that have a cuff around the bottom.

PP again. I just went to check the J Crew site and I don’t see the cotton cropped PJs right now. Maybe they will have them again in the spring?

And to clarify, I buy DD the Petite XXS ones for my DD, who isn’t really very tall. The drag on the floor a little. YOu can probably hem them if needed.
