Application overlap schools include: Franklin & Marshall, Denison (Ohio), Hamilton College, Colby College, and University of Vermont. (Used to be a school for those who were not admitted to Dartmouth College or to Colgate University.)

Awards lots of merit scholarships & need based financial aid. Apply, then visit if accepted and affordable.

Can anyone compare it to Hobart William Smith? Similar vibe? I gather Hobart is less remote.

After SLU sold their ski area, it lost a good bit of Dartmouth College & Middlebury College overlap applicants.

St. Lawrence cut down the number of fraternities in an attempt to quell drinking.

Hobart is big on Women's Studies & LGBTQ studies (listed as the strongest majors at Hobart). First in the nation to offer such programs according to the Fiske Guide To Colleges.

St. Lawrence students tend to be more mainstream & more preppy than those at Hobart.

What does your student want to study in college ?

Oh, interesting. Thanks for sharing. I would have guessed Hobart was more mainstream (preppy), but that's probably a dated view.
